FEAR MONGERING

Let us all believe on the eve of the eve of the eve of 2016 the world will come to its senses and reverse this uncivilized fear mongering, hatred, murder, rape and genocide of all mankind, be it man or woman...this was not God's plan...this was not what we were created for by the Hand of God...let us believe that we as Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindu, etc., read the words of prophets, the messiah, our Holy Lord, and love one another...there is only "one human race"..and if we do not heed these words...we will all perish...it can be reversed...it can be better...it only takes faith, and love of your enemies; neighbors, your peers, your community, the world over...everyday we see the shootings, the rape of people, the destruction of whole societies, the path of extinction...the 6th Commandment states; "ye shall not murder (kill)", yet we have lost faith and ignore this law of God....those that read any other explanation into this "law" are not true believers and use religious fanaticism as a false narrative....they will burn in hell...
Yet to speak true, and lay credence to something, I was raised in the Catholic Church, yet I am not a practicing soul...I am an observer and still believe in the teaching of my faith...in the twilight of my time here on earth...wisdom comes to the forefront...and mankind was created to survive...to go and pro-create...if not He will destroy us...as He did before....

THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN

When you follow the news/politics today, you have to filter the true and the agenda...the left has its goals, the right has its plans...it's hard to tell the difference...all I know is in my age bracket...its frustrating...living and working and time for family and friends were more important...those times were great memories...today, with 2 minute sound bites, and the creation of "opinion news shows, posing as "real news" has been detrimental to our society...and only for the ratings...the advertisers, and the men/women behind the curtain...it kinds of reminds me of the scene in the "Wizard of Oz"..where the "great and powerful Oz" scares the shit out of Dorothy and her friends...but, then he is exposed by "Toto" who pulls back the curtain to reveal, a carnival clown, who took advantage of misinformation, and uneducated
people...
'Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain' from the Wizard of Oz.

THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND

The blind leading the blind...Trump, Cruz, Sanders, Clinton....is this really the best we have to offer...it's like the Wal-Mart of politics...you don't want to shop there, but it's the cheapest place...I know, I know, some people and family will not like this...but, I've always traveled in my own van...the world is a mess...yet, we keep pulling the lever for the same lying losers in Washington...for decades no less...I really don't have a candidate this election...they all suck...if you have to vote...and you have to...it's your civic duty, and you can't complain if you don't vote...although most people do...if we didn't have government or some sort of social guidance...sometimes too much...we would be living in caves and eating each other....but living in faith is some peoples answer...but I'm sure the big guy upstairs is really disappointed in us right now...it's not Sodom & Gomorrah... but its pretty close... proverbial manifestation of divine retribution...now, I'm not a practicing Catholic, although I believe....change is coming...and its going to be bad, or good....maybe.

AMERICA TIMMY KNEW

..this is an early draft of a childrens book I have written, from memories of childhood...I have photos to insert, and have made contact with some publishers, and magazines to get a feel for publishing...just wanted to share for comments... Jon
AMERICA TIMMY KNEW
A children’s guide to simpler times
By Jon J. Tucci
America used to be innocent; a simpler life we somehow have lost, or forgot. This short print is the way one boy from small town America began his day.
CHAPTER ONE
Every Saturday morning Timmy would jump out of bed, after his Mother gently called for him to come into the kitchen and have some breakfast.
Of course his first action was to turn on the TV to watch cartoons with his little brother Ben. They loved Hanna-Barbara cartoons, like the Jetsons, or the Flintstones’.
Or maybe walk over to the TV set to change channels to watch Wiley Coyote or Scooby-Doo; yes this was before channel changers…we actually had to get off the couch.
His mother would ask Timmy if he wanted eggs and toast or “Frosted Flakes”… Timmy loved Tony the Tiger commercials…”there great”….”Frosted Flakes” he would holler…and so did his parrot brother Ben….”Frosted Flakes”…of course Mom knew they wouldn’t come to the breakfast table so she lovingly brought both of them a bowl of “Frosted Flakes” in milk with a big spoon.
After an hour of TV, Mom would say…go brush your teeth wash your face and get outside…outside, that was the start of adventure….Timmy knew his new Schwinn bicycle was waiting in the garage ready to fly….Ben was just learning to ride so he needed help with training wheels….Timmy always helped his little brother with a push out of the driveway.
Timmy had a piggy bank with loose change that his Dad always filled up as much as he could….it was a source of nickels and dimes a boy needed…washed and ready for the day…Timmy and Ben are on the street…no helmets, no knee pads…just the wind in their hair and plastic handle bar grips waving in the air…they ride over to their friends house….”Stevie” they screamed to their best friend….”let’s go get a “Nehi” at Mr. Benson’s store….The cooler was full of cold crisp pop soda in many flavors…”Grape Nehi”, “Orange Nehi”, “Coca-Cola”…and only a nickel for a small one….Ben of course couldn’t reach down into the cooler, so his big brother would grab his favorite “Nehi Orange” and a grape for himself….Stevie was a coke man and loved to burp chugging a big shot…the boys were happy and on their way.
Stevie yelled…”let’s ride down to the park near the creek and skip some rocks…the boys preceded to ride to the City Park….after skipping rocks…Stevie always won…he was a bigger boy, and stronger…
they sat down under a tree and Stevie pulled out his very used sack of “Ball-Jacks”
This game was a form of relaxation and hand eye coordination…Timmy was very good at it and always beat the other two….enough of sitting around…it’s time to ride…
they b-line to Stevie’s house…his Mom is busy in the laundry room…on comes the TV…
it’s “Mighty Mouse”
“Here I come to save the day”….Ben stands up and cheers…..the boys laugh….
Stevie is playing on the stairs with his “Slinky” as Ben and Timmy watch in amazement Stevie’s Mom walks through the living room and says….”it’s a beautiful day outside, why aren’t you boys outside”…she’s right they agree…they jump up and run outside…we were always outside…most of the time till dark…or we heard…”Timmy come home…dinner’s ready”.
The boys were on a journey now…it’s time to be “boys”….pumping there “Keds” tennis shoes they race a couple blocks past “Dairy Queen” and “McDonalds”….hoping that Mom and Dad will again have a night out for some “fast food” and desserts…favorite times….
They come upon what looks like a “whiffle ball game”….they hit their brakes and slide sideways in the gravel…cool job…. local boys are running the bases and gathering players…it’s time to choose sides…ok, Stevie grabs the bat and tells “Brian” the other neighborhood friend to a standoff…one hand above the other. they choose sides…of course little Ben is placed on his brother’s team….and he’s the first up to bat….the game concludes in a tie and all the boys…jump back on their bikes for a ride….Timmy saw a “phone booth” by Dairy Queen…his Mother always reminded Timmy to take the time to look around your surroundings…know where to call “Mom” or “Dad” if there’s an accident….
The daylight is waning and Timmy knows that he and Ben should be getting back closer to home…kids knew and took responsibility in these times…as they were riding home…Ben’s shaky cycling took a turn for the worst…he ran over the curb and fell off his bike….oh no…scratched up his knee pretty good…Timmy being the big brother…told Stevie to pull his bike into his yard…and he would come back and get it.
Big brother placed his little brother Ben on the little bike and began to gently walk him home…he yelled for his Mother from the yard…”Ben had a wreck and his knee is bleeding”…of course Mom came to see what had happened and ran back in the house to get some Mercurochrome and a Band-Aid…
Boo boo fixed and all is well…that’s what big brothers are supposed to do.
CHAPTER TWO
Sunday comes too soon for Timmy and Ben…out of bed and in front of the TV again…watching cartoons…Mom yells, “boys wash up…get your Sunday best on its time to go to Church…a family tradition back then.

Sitting in Church with Mom and Dad was a tough schedule for any young boys…full of energy and restless they pick on each other until Mom whispers…”stop it”…and I mean it”….they are amazed at the old lady in the pew in front of them…she has layered over her neck a “mink stole”
And, the glass eyes are eerily looking at Ben…he thinks…they giggle…and get Mom’s staring eyes again…
Now, out of Church and out of those clothes…the T-shirt and Keds are in place…after Lunch at the local diner….it’s time for riding bikes and exploring the neighborhood…off to Stevie’s house to grab their friend….Stevie comes out and growls at Ben…teasing…like a big bear…what can we do now Timmy…
CHAPTER THREE
“Let’s go down to the train station and smash some pennies”…ok the boys agree…

On their bikes and riding with the wind, they stop by the train station to watch the railroad workers turn an engine around 180 degrees to grease and work on the engine…the boys are amazed at this huge turntable that moves this heavy engines around….
It’s a hot day so Timmy suggests the boys go to Mr. Benson’s to grab a “Popsicle”…off they ride. As they walk up the wooden steps…Mr. Benson is outside sweeping off the dust and brushing away the road dirt on the vegetable baskets he has on the porch….”Hello Mr. Benson, they say….”hello boys, having fun today…going to be a hot one”….yea, Stevie says…got any grape “Popsicles”…”sure do boys…look in the freezer….a nickel apiece and their on their way….riding and licking the cool “Popsicle”…life is good.
CHAPTER FOUR
The boys stop by a big shade tree in front of their school to finish off their treat….laying the bikes on the ground….Stevie pulls out a comic book of their favorite hero “Captain America”…they jam together so all could see Stevie flip the pages…
Stevie says, “Captain America is the coolest superhero”…Timmy says…he likes ‘Batman” better…they laugh…Ben says “I’d like to see those two battle…that would be awesome”….on the sidewalk are 4 girls “jumping rope and signing a song”….the boys are not interested in girls..yet..but, want to try jumping…Stevie’s timing is a little off since he doesn’t do this every day…the kids laugh while socializing like only kids can do….Timmy tries his hand at jumping…
not bad, not bad at all one of the girls says…
Ok, ok, says Stevie…enough of this girls stuff…we’ve got some riding to do…the boys jump on their bikes and quickly spin out with their handle bar streaming gleaming in the wind…
CHAPTER FIVE
Riding down the street Timmy notices Mr. Gleason, (the local custodian and safety leader) sweeping around the always funny looking entrance to the “bomb shelter”…these were built during the 1950’s and 1960’s…in case foreign countries dropped “the big bomb” on us….the boys slid into the curb to say hello to Mr. Gleason…he invited the boys to go inside and look at the inner chamber….this was exciting for the boys…not really knowing the reality of it all…they sat on the bench and stared at the metal walls and enclosed lamp on the ceiling….
An exciting day for the boys…and a lesson….in those days…fear of foreign engagement was a reality.
Chapter Six
Time to head home it was almost dinner time…and they never missed a meal…or never were too far from home…when Mom and Dad wanted you to sit at the dinner table…like family should do…they knew that life was good…and family came first….Mom always had their favorites on the table…Timmy especially liked his Mom’s “Mac & cheese”…..and a slice of “meatloaf”…that was the best…after dinner the boys were allowed to watch an hour or so of television…of course Dad controlled the TV…so it was either the “Ed Sullivan show”
or “Carol Burnett” …
take your pick….
Those innocent times are long gone…and the family unit is a past encounter…but…memories are important…and we will always have those…goodnight Timmy, Ben and Stevie…wherever you are.

DEAR POLITICIANS

Dear politicians, local, state and national, since I receive 100's of solicitations a week from you for donations to your campaigns, I thought it only fair that you reciprocate in kind. Please help fund my gofundme campaign to help reduce the cost of my eye surgery due to diabetes. Every little bit helps and your help is appreciated. It's a great country, where you can ask for something and somehow they will donate. I learned from you how to mass mail by using my FB account, so thanks for the info. The only difference is that I won't be doing this every year or every two years....I hope. Please share this with your fiends and kind politicians.

America is addicted to HELP

America is addicted to HELP. When the age of Gordon Gekko types made it to the mountaintop, huge profits and monstrous salary takes were the point of origin of the decline of the wage earner's future plans. Conservative GOP members mostly right wing conservatives still hold that era sacred, even though the voting majority is in the wage earner category. Elections are about reactions, and reactions mean something good or bad has happened. The bad is minimum wage is not on the same bus as corporate profits. The good is voters have finally figured out the pillager schemes, and realize that their safety nets created in the 1930's are outdated and underfunded due to massive layoffs and industrial revolution melt down.
Housing foreclosures are at record levels and bailed out banks aren't filling the economic gaps absorbed by the mortgagees. People are sleeping in their cars and living with grandma, again. American's addiction to HELP is a despondent cry for relief. The daily burdens of food, clothing, and a roof over their heads are not guaranteed by today's economy any more.
The blame game in Congress is not the answer, gridlock is a pox on both Houses.
The 2014 election will have to create a supermajority of Democrats in all three branches so at least something will get passed. So, if you are a wage earner and want some warranty, and you vote for right wing conservatives, you only pull your own rope on the guillotine.

The Honorable Senator Robert C. Byrd
311 Hart Building
Washington, D. C. 20510

Dear Senator Byrd:

It is with great pleasure and pride that I can communicate with you by this letter on this fine sunny afternoon. I am sitting at my desk here at City Hall and looking out the window at the “Grand Ole Dame”; (Old Weston State Hospital) and reflect on my youth some fifty years ago when the community had a circle of strength around the grounds of the Hospital. When some eight hundred employees and over two thousand patients, nee’ clients, walked and hustled about the majestic and well groomed gardens and flowers that graced the properties surrounding her. There were large trucks delivering supplies and people stopping to look at the largest hand cut stone building in North America.

The French novelist Anatole France, who died in 1924, said “All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another”. When I read this I became perplexed over the condition our City has fallen into my dear Senator. I want to reach up and grab the clouds and wash away the years of neglect and abuse of our streets and bridges. I pray for answers as our town deteriorates right in front of my own eyes. Our primary roadway (U.S. Rt. 19), is being bludgeoned by the mighty West Fork of the Monongahela river and shall soon fall into the waters in an area we call the narrows; ¼ mile south of main street.

PAGE TWO

Our school buses carrying our beloved school children must travel this primary route everyday, and I know in my heart that there will be a disastrous accident there some day. You can view the substrata from across the river and see where the river is cutting out a large hole underneath the roadway. The West Second street bridge and the Fourth street bridge are losing there concrete abutments to the waters of the West Fork also. I pray for relief everyday that we don’t lose people in passenger cars crossing these bridges.

The Almighty gave me a second chance in my re-election to solve these problems, but, I find no relief in prayer. Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the English Poet once wrote, “God’s gifts put man’s best dreams to shame.” I read this passage over and over again and find that I must solve these problems and perform my duty as the people have elected me to do. But, I need help, and I know no other person on this earth that can help other than you, Senator. I am not ashamed to grovel or plea for your guidance and strength and will continue to admire you and your wealth of knowledge. I will fight that battle everyday to assure our people that we can have better schools, roads and bridges, better sanitary conditions and better jobs. In fact, we must demand it, and not take it for granted. As in the Preamble of the Constitution we must “promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…”

Please come and visit our City in need Senator and I will show you what I have tried to portray to you. With God’s grace and blessings I beseech you.

Sincerely,

Mayor Jon J. Tucci

5 ways to gun safety

When you think of ways to keep your kids safe, you never really think that some crazy idiot or mentally challenged young adult is going to mow them down with his mother's assault weapon. For the next few decades we will be trying to resolve the terrible tragedies that have been placed on our TV screens for all to witness for the ages. Therefore, we are as a nation supposedly civilized, in a position to either except it or fix it.
It seems that money is more important than our lives and our politicians like money more that us, they will never or probably never come up with legislation to stop or at least reduce these evil incidents.
So, what do we do in the meantime, sit idly by or rack our brains for solutions or remedies.

5 Ways to Gun Safety

1. Mandatory vaults or safes for home use that can be unlocked by the owner in a matter of minutes in case of home invasion. By key or silent code, or red beam attached to a chain of keys.
2. New gun laws demanding annual testing by a questionnaire just like your drivers test, to show stability or the ability to safely own guns.
3. Fingerprint pistol triggers, *we already have the technology* so that only the owner can fire the weapon.
4. Mandatory testing forms or application for all gun sales shops with stricter regulations. If you're going to sell it know who you're selling it to.
5. Stop the parking lot gun shows in rural America. The 1st defense against illegal gun sales.

MIRACLE IN NEWTOWN

Webster's defines 'miracle' as: an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs, alas the changing of a Nation. The devastation and mind boggling aftermath of the murder of little children and heroic adults in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday can only be thought of as a violent nightmare that will go down in our Nation's history. The sacrifice those parents made and are making should not go unnoticed, nor will it.
We as a Nation of God fearing people, (most of us anyway) have been changed forever. We will never understand the evil that lurks in mentally complex  individuals or even sane people who could spray bullets into our loved ones, especially 6 and 7 year old "Angels".
I must admit I think it's a "miracle", I really do. Only our divine Holy Father would take those "little Angels" so early in life for a purpose. I must come to this conclusion, because we need closure, and that is my way of understanding this atrocious act. It's only for my reasons and you can agree or disagree.
I want change, you want change, we all want change, and our President made that statement in one of his best speeches of his tenure as our Commander in Chief. I will always think of "Newtown" as a "Miracle"

The Lies GOP say about Affordable Care Act

The Lies GOP say about Affordable Care Act (OBAMACARE) reprinted facts by Beth Howard

1 The new law will drive up premiums astronomically. That’s an unlikely scenario. “A significant number of the uninsured people who will be brought into the system with the ACA are the ‘young invincibles,’” says Shannon Brownlee, acting director of Health Policy at the New America Foundation, a nonpartisan think tank, describing the 18-through-29 age group. “Their relative good health helps to subsidize care for less healthy people.”
The law also strengthens states’ power to question unreasonable rate increases, whether because of age, preexisting conditions or any other reason. And the law’s “medical loss ratio requirement” dictates that 80 to 85 percent of premiums be spent on medical costs. As of August 1, approximately 12.8 million Americans received an estimated $1.1 billion in rebates from insurance companies in cases where overhead expenses exceeded 15 to 20 percent of premiums charged in 2011.

2 The ACA basically turns our health care system into universal health care. So now some government bureaucrat will decide how and when I get treated. Health care under the ACA will not be government run. “The law builds on and strengthens the existing private insurance system,” says Sara R. Collins, Ph.D., vice president of the Commonwealth Fund, a private research foundation focused on health care. “Fifty to 60 percent of people will continue to get insurance through an employer, and people who are buying their own insurance will still buy private health plans. The choice of plan is not dictated, and you’ll be able to choose the provider you want—no government bureaucrat involved.”
The health care system envisioned by the law aims to be universal in one way: by making health insurance accessible to the vast majority of Americans. “That’s a good thing,” says Brownlee. “We’ll have more people covered.”

3 I’ll have to wait longer to see my doctor—or I won’t be able to see my doctor at all.“If your current plan allows you to see any physician in the plan, nothing will change,” says Lavarreda. Health plans are already building bigger networks in anticipation of new patients, so choices could be even greater.
Although the law doesn’t specifically address wait times, many of its provisions are aimed at improving quality of care. In particular, it encourages more physicians to become primary care doctors, provides a larger role for nurse practitioners and increases funding for community health clinics.

4 If my state doesn’t set up an insurance exchange, I can’t get health coverage. The ACA calls for each state to create an exchange, a marketplace of private health insurance companies. This will give individuals and small businesses a place to shop for affordable coverage, with subsidies provided, starting in 2014. But some states have declined to set up an exchange or have moved slowly. “If a state hasn’t done it, then the Department of Health and Human Services will set up an exchange in that state,” says Collins. “Each state will have an exchange operated by either the state or the federal government. And tax credits will be available in your state, regardless of who is running it.”

5 If I can’t afford to buy health insurance, I’ll be taxed—or worse. If you can’t afford health insurance because of financial hardship (if the cheapest plan exceeds 8 percent of your income), you w ill be exempt from the tax penalty. Special taxes (from $95 the first year to $695 a year by 2017) will be phased in over the next seven years for those who choose to forgo coverage. Even then, the government will not criminally prosecute or place property liens on people who ignore the tax. At worst, the IRS may withhold the tax amount from individuals’ tax refunds.

6 I’m a small-business owner and I’ll pay big fines if I don’t provide health insurance to my employees. “Penalties for not providing health coverage apply only to companies with 50 or more workers,” says Collins. In fact, many small companies will be eligible for tax credits to offset the burden of providing insurance. From now through 2013, eligible employers will receive a business credit for up to 35 percent of their contribution toward employees’ premiums. For 2014 and beyond, the tax credit rises to as much as 50 percent of the contribution. These credits apply to companies with fewer than 25 full-time employees whose average annual salaries are less than $50,000. Companies with more than 50 workers that don’t provide coverage will be subject to a fine of $2,000 to $3,000 per employee per year.

7 The law is going to bankrupt America. Not according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the independent and nonpartisan budget scorekeeper. The CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation estimate that health reform will reduce the nation’s deficit by $210 billion between 2012 and 2021, by such means as delivery-system reforms and crackdowns on waste and fraud. “If we don’t get health care spending under control, that’s going to bankrupt America,” says Brownlee.
